During this pandemic, people who are in assisted living are not allowed to have visitors. It's impacting the people in them. But also the family members that aren't able to see them. Reach out and make sure you're having online conversations with those you love. This is the moment where we all need compassion and kindness towards others. So that they know they're not alone during this process. The world is changing so rapidly in so many ways. Love and connection is the driving force that's so vital. The Addiction Much Bigger Than Opioids

The Addiction Much Bigger Than Opioids with Dianne A. Allen
“I have been an addiction specialist for 40 years and I am tired of hearing that opioids are the big epidemic.” — Dianne A. Allen (00:09-00:18)
Are you tired of opioids being labeled as an epidemic? Yes, they are an epidemic. They have been an epidemic for a very long time because heroin is in the opioid family.
But there are many more addictions that are bigger than that. We see it everywhere around us and it is likely not what you think. In this week's episode, Dianne A. Allen talks about the addiction that is much bigger than opioids.
Part One of ‘The Addiction Much Bigger Than Opioids’
Fear is an addiction much bigger than opioids ever will be. Fear is a chemistry in the body that we can easily be addicted to. We can be addicted to things that are not just physical.
You can be addicted to fear and not feel afraid because fear is the fuel for anger and irritation. It's like turning up the gas on the stove. Whenever we have fear underneath, there are only two motivators: fear and love.
“Every single person that I have treated in 40 years, there has been a ninety percent success rate.” – Dianne A. Allen (02:38-02:44)
If there's fear underneath, and you have anything going on, you will immediately become angry. Every time you see somebody who's angry all the time, it's because they have fear beneath, even if they're not feeling fear. When you hear the word addiction, realize that it does not only refer to things like alcohol, drugs, marijuana, and opioids.
Part Two of ‘The Addiction Much Bigger Than Opioids’
Some people are struggling to address their fear issues. It’s an inner addiction that we rarely pay attention to. It’s happening a lot in our world today. It pushes people to harm others and put more toxic energy into this universe than ever before.
“You don't have to live in fear. Go out there and employ some faith in your world.” – Dianne A. Allen (15:31-15:36)
You must have a sense of awareness and identify how fear is affecting your life. How is it affecting your relationships, creativity, work, and everything? Faith is the only antidote to fear because it is much bigger than most things.
People usually associate it with high spirituality and religion, but it's about your core faith. The faith that when you sit in a chair, it's not going to fall apart, and it's going to hold you.
You don't have to live in fear. Go out there and employ some faith in your world. No matter what you do, use your faith to bring yourself more joy. It's ridiculous to live in panic, fear, and terror. That's not what we're meant for at all.

Using Quilting as a Visionary Leader to Stay Grounded

Using Quilting as a Visionary Leader to Stay Grounded with Dianne A. Allen
“There are many creative endeavors that you can apply to your creative life.” — Dianne A. Allen (00:56-00:59)
Have you ever wondered a visionary leader would find solace in quilting? Maybe you think quilting is something from the olden days. Did you know that there are tons of advantages in this creative endeavor that you can apply to your creative life? In this week's episode, Dianne A. Allen talks about using quilting as a visionary leader to stay grounded.
Part One of ‘Using Quilting as a Visionary Leader to Help Ground’
First of all, the beginner's mind is essential. To not have a nervous breakdown. If you're a perfectionist, it can make you go crazy. Which makes it a bad idea. Even if you're an expert with a lot of things, you must be teachable, willing to learn, and makes mistakes.
“It takes being teachable for a beginner to succeed.” – Dianne A. Allen (04:31-04:38)
Believe it or not, quilting could be better than a therapist. You'll slowly notice that you're less stressful and sleeping a lot better than you normally do. Since it takes a lot of creativity to make a good one, it will help develop your patience too.
It can be a fantastic form of meditation. You can get yourself busy creating something, feeling the soft cotton, and not having to worry about whatever is going on in the world.
Part Two of ‘Using Quilting as a Visionary Leader to Help Ground’
Quilting has a way to help you stay grounded, be calm, and meditate. Just like other hobbies out there, when you get to attend classes and do it with other people, you'll learn how to value the community. After it's done, you feel that sense of fulfillment for being able to accomplish something.
“Quilting is an amazing way to meditate.” – Dianne A. Allen (07:51-07:55)
There's way more to quilting than you can imagine. It keeps your mind sharp, alert, and you'll learn a lot of things. You develop the kind of mindset that it takes to practice to create something perfect. As a visionary leader, reflect on your life and think about what creative things you enjoy most.

Purpose-Driven Business With Jorgie Franks-Bell
Monday Mar 16, 2020
Monday Mar 16, 2020
Are you trying to be popular with something that maybe doesn't completely align with you because it's comfortable and familiar? And it's time to get a little bit more honest about where you're headed and be willing to let go of the old to embrace something new. In this week's episode, Dianne A. Allen welcomes Jorgie Franks-Bell as her special guest as they talk about purpose-driven business.
Part One of ‘Purpose-Driven Business Jorgie Franks-Bell’
Jorgie Franks-Bell has been in sales and leadership for over 20 years, which includes, territory management, cold calls, call center, knocking on doors, retail sales, and sales management. Jorgie worked with companies like Samsung (Territory Management), Coca-Cola, Microsoft, BARBIZON Modeling (National Touring Speaker/Spokes Model), Jared, The Galleria of Jewelry, Victoria Secret and for almost two years served at Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce as Director of Membership. She’s the author of You Goal Girl and #MYOB Mind Your Own Business.
“Our purpose and vision allow our inner calling to get us on the right road.” – Dianne A. Allen (15:51-16:00) *PART ONE
Many successful entrepreneurs earn money, but they don’t have authentic joy and happiness because they’re not living according to what they’re called to do. Have you ever wondered why it’s crucial to have a purpose-driven business? Having purpose and knowing what is underneath everything pays off in significant ways.
We live in a culture where our ego tends to drive the bus, fear is the navigator, and we are all passengers. If you come to think of it, life is about our purpose and vision, allowing our inner calling to get us on the right road. Your gift makes room for you because as you live and you walk, as you take a step to the path of your vision, the entire world begins to conform to that vision. The universe makes room for your gifts, and it all comes to support you. You're going to be a different person ninety days a year, two years, three years. Therefore, the business is going to be different. It's always changing and evolving.
Part Two of ‘Purpose-Driven Business Jorgie Franks-Bell’
When you are stuck between projects that you're both passionate about, you have to decide which one is more urgent. Gifted people usually do three passion projects in their lifetime, if not more. Clarity is essential for you to know your priorities because it’s the foundation for your purpose while your values help you make strong decisions that are grounded.
“We can't make strong decisions if we're not connected to our purpose.” – Dianne A. Allen (03:21-03:28) *PART TWO
Some people want to be popular like with the old lifestyle. As we grow and change, the universe is always expanding in terms of unity, diversity, and complexity. So, things are always moving. You're not the same from day to day. It always takes that clarity and the ability to pivot and move. To have a purpose-driven business, you have to be flexible.
If you're not connected to your purpose and the higher understanding of doing things, then it's more challenging to decide. Stop procrastinating and go out there and live your purpose. Live according to what you’re called to do.

How to Find Your Authentic Power Using A Neutral Zone
Tuesday Mar 10, 2020

How to Find Your Authentic Power Using A Neutral Zone
“We're all looking to have our own inner power show up in a way that's productive and successful.” — Dianne A. Allen (00:38-00:45)
Are you someone who works a lot with visionary leaders all over the place, whether young and old? The big thing that comes up all the time is authenticity. More than that, it's the authentic power that they're looking for. Aren't we all looking to have our own inner power show up in a way that's productive, successful, makes us feel alive and happy?
Authentic power is not about ego, control or fear. It's about living who you are, your core self, and allowing that core to show up in the world. In a magnificent way. In this week's episode, Dianne A. Allen talks about finding your authentic power using a neutral zone.
Part One of ‘How to Find Your Authentic Power Using A Neutral Zone’
Authenticity is how you treat yourself when no one's looking. When you pretend, that's not our authenticity. That's pretending. Sadly we live in a culture that teaches us to put on multiple masks all the time. We’re whoever somebody around us wants us to be.
Perhaps that worked years ago, a little bit, but it doesn't work anymore. It causes much too much inner pain and turmoil. If you're out of alignment with who you are authentically, then people get an entirely different viewpoint of who you are.
“It's impossible to change our core, authentic, real self.” – Dianne A. Allen (02:32-02:35)
You are perfect just the way you are. Any mistake that you've made, any upset you've caused, anything that's happened to us may have created veils and disconnect. It's impossible to change our core, authentic, real self. That's why people who've been through adversity can come out brighter. They're trying to save their lives.
Go deep within and connect to that authentic power to show up, and stay alive. Many people have been suffering from addiction over the years, and that's that story you can stop using, but you have to go deep within if you want to feel alive. You can use a neutral zone time to connect to and live from your authentic power.
Part Two of ‘How to Find Your Authentic Power Using A Neutral Zone’
You must have a protected and dedicated time for yourself every day. That means that you have it scheduled. You know when your time for you is, and you protect it, meaning you don't overbook it. You don't schedule anything on top of it and you don't allow yourself to be disturbed. We live in a society that says if your phone rings or you get a text, you have to answer it right away. That's why there are all the laws now about distracted driving.
We want to start to release the addiction to holding on to that external stimulus and have protected dedicated time for ourselves. Some people do that in meditation. Some people are walking in nature. Some people might do that because they're taking quiet time. By protecting and dedicating the time you are honoring yourself.
If you're not honoring yourself first, it's impossible to do it for anyone else. It's just not possible. So, honor yourself first. Put it on your calendar. Treat yourself as someone who's important enough, valuable enough, and love yourself enough.
Write down your thoughts, especially the ones that make no sense. Some of those things make no sense to start. Over time, your brain starts picking up information. Your soul, your intuition, your emotions, all of your being when it's quiet is giving you information that's valuable and vital for your life.
Even if you don't always see it. So, write it all down, whether it makes sense or not, and keep a log. You can go back and look at it or not share it with someone or not. That's not the point. The point is honoring yourself by documenting the fantastic ideas that come to you.
Take this time to write something creative about your life, like your memoirs or maybe your autobiography. If your life is worth living, it is worth recording. It is worth honoring your journey in your path.
“The more you step into your power with safe people, the better your life becomes.” – Dianne A. Allen (28:00-28:05)
As you are growing and you are evolving, the things you want will shift. Be aware of the fact that sometimes it changes, and it's okay. Reserve the right to change your mind. And at the same time, keep your eyes on what you say you want because otherwise, you're going to get distracted.
Otherwise, you're going to lose it and you're not going to get there. Because if you don't know where you're going, how are you going to get there? How will you know when you have success? How will you know when you have joy? How will you know when you are experiencing a fulfilling relationship with yourself?
How will you know when you're able to share that with another? And that's a question that must be discerned within you. That's your authentic power. That is why we need neutral zones to get away from the distraction.
We want to be successful; we want to have a beautiful life. Nobody wakes up every morning and says, let me see how I can feel rotten today. If we don't know our criteria and our evidence that we need, it's impossible to go for the goal. It's impossible to know what action to take or who to talk to or what to do. Think of what would be unlived if today was your last day on earth. What would be unlived?
Don't allow yourself to have your heart's desire and that authentic inner part of you so closed up in there and a secret that is eating away at you, and it's not coming out into the world. I believe that we all come to this world to bring whatever our unique special, the perfect gift is. How are you using your voice for the highest and best good of all?
If you're feeling stuck, if you're feeling irritated, if you're feeling frustrated, if you're feeling like your life is on pause, and you can't get it going, those are all signs that it's time to connect to that authentic power and see what it's telling you. Decide what next steps to take.
You need to know another person on the journey with you who is a trusted other person to support you. All humans require connection to other human beings. None of this is meant to be kept secret or alone. It's intended to bring people together.

Addiction Isn’t What You Think It Is
Tuesday Mar 03, 2020
Tuesday Mar 03, 2020
Every person has a different perspective, story, and level of pain. It doesn't matter because you deserve to find somebody who can help guide and support you in making the changes that you say you want to make.
If you're struggling with something, know that you're not alone. You're not supposed to do it all by yourself. If you're trying to help someone, it's essential to understand how you can give them the kind of help they need. In this week's episode, Dianne A Allen sheds some light that addiction isn't what you think it is.
Part One of ‘Addiction Isn’t What You Think It Is’
We're in a culture that sets a different definition for the term addiction, not realizing that everyone struggles. When people experience the kind of pain they've never felt before, there's a roller coaster ride of chaotic emotions.
“Having a support group that is supportive of your process without their agenda getting in the way is extremely important.” – Dianne A. Allen
We are constantly presented with things that we believe will make us happy. There are many things that people do to cover up the hole inside of them, which eventually leads to addiction. Unfortunately, when they return to the real world, the problem is still there, still nagging at them. It could be an eating disorder, sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling and many more. The sad thing is, healing isn't taking place because the inner wound isn't getting the right support it deserves.
Some people are trying to help somebody who is suffering from addiction from a cognitive mental standpoint. They keep telling them to find a spiritual life without really showing them how to do it or teaching them. Or worse yet, they lack compassion for that person's suffering.
It takes time to heal and there are many things to consider. Just because somebody might look calm doesn't mean they're not hurting. Just because somebody is smiling doesn't mean that's not a coping skill to help their pain.
Being able to listen genuinely is considered a great superpower. Isn't it rewarding when someone tells you that you're the only person who ever listened to their pains? There's absolutely nothing wrong with telling yourself the truth about your life, your state of affairs, and where you want to go. Map the road out for those kinds of things. Find a trusted person to help you out.
Part Two of ‘Addiction Isn’t What You Think It Is’
Breathing is wonderful because when we pause a little bit, it resets our nervous system. It allows us permission to feel. Now, remember your feelings are the energy source that tells you you're alive. You want to maintain feelings in our society. Many people don't want to feel anything and then numb themselves out.
Pay attention to how you're fueling your body. Take some time to breathe because if you’re not breathing correctly, your oxygen level gets depleted. Allow whatever pain is being held in the muscles and cells to emerge and come out like a bubble. In our culture, we learn if somebody hurts our feelings, the right answer is to let it go. Let things go in a way that works for you and serves you.
“Be someone who offers unconditional support with healthy boundaries.” – Dianne Allen
If anything goes wrong, it's best to have a circle of friends or anyone you can call. You're not supposed to deal with your pain alone. There's a lot of unconscious resistance that we all have to change. Having a group that is supportive of your process without their agenda being in the way is extremely important. Without that, your awareness and real authentic support. It's tricky to make long-term changes.

Fear of Visibility + Imposter Syndrome with Tamara Thompson
Tuesday Feb 25, 2020
Tuesday Feb 25, 2020
Afraid of being a public persona? You're not alone. Maybe you fear putting something out there because too many people might see it. Or criticize your work. Realize that when we keep playing smaller than we're capable of, we prevent ourselves from living out our mission in life.
There is a visionary leader inside each one of us. In this week's episode, Dianne Allen, together with her special guest, Tamara Thompson, talks about the fear of visibility and imposter syndrome.
Part One of ‘Fear of Visibility + Imposter Syndrome’
Tamara Thompson is the CEO of Serious Take Productions, a premium video production company. Business owners hire her to visually and emotionally share their stories. They inspire and establish their authority through media creatively and compellingly, in a way that fits their brand.
Her clients are in the personal and professional development industry: speakers, coaches, consultants, agency owners that have built a business around their expertise. They have a proven track record of helping transform the lives of clients. They have produced reputable results.
They want help creating videos that help them sell without feeling overly salesy. They want to be positioned as the go-to authority and trusted experts in their field. Some of them may even want practical training on how to create videos, what to say, and how to use video and media to sell more effectively.
Her mission is to turn everyday people into influencers. She helps business owners build a scalable company and become more visible consistently online to attract more clients without having to chase people around or be tech-savvy.
“Storytelling can be used on a grand scale to save lives and inspire a nation.” – Tamara Thompson (11:02-11:08)
As you grow up, there are moments when you just feel like your life choices aren't aligned to your true calling. You feel the desire to be seen and heard for who you are. You're probably someone who's been hiding for years when you have so much potential. It's essential to be visible because there are so many people in the world who choose to hide their amazing gifts.
But there's another thing: some people, despite the evident success, have a feeling of inadequacy. They want to position themselves differently on social media than the way they are in their everyday practices. Put yourself out there and don't worry about what other people think. At times you may feel like you're an imposter because what you're doing so good at comes so naturally.
Part Two of ‘Fear of Visibility + Imposter Syndrome’
You must be able to share things with people, be vulnerable, and strike that genuine connection. Find more people who can truly understand you and resonate with your story. Show them where you've been, how you've gotten where you are today. Show yourself as the expert.
If this is something that you're struggling with, start recording a video of yourself. Practice, in general, doesn't make things perfect. But it does create considerable progress. If you want to get better, you have to be willing to step out and take a risk. Think about what you're doing to get where you want to go. Come up with a plan to expand.
“Every person has an interesting story to tell.” – Dianne Allen
You have an incredible story to share, and don't let anyone or anything get in the way of you believing that. You have to understand that all stories are meant to be heard. Figure out which story throughout your life path is worth sharing to connect with people on a deeper emotional level. You might ins

Serving Others with Jamie Delaluz
Tuesday Feb 18, 2020
Tuesday Feb 18, 2020
There are many ways to serve others to make them happy. It's considered the highest form of charity. But at the end of the day, whichever way you choose to serve, it all boils down to having integrity in your own space and allowing it to create a positive impact. In this week's episode, Dianne Allen, together with her special guest Jamie Delaluz talks about serving others.
Part One of ‘Serving Others with Jamie Delaluz’
Some people like Jamie Oxendine loves to have gatherings as a way of serving others. You might be one of them. If you are, then you probably put love into the food preparation process. It's an essential part. Food is the ultimate nourishment and everything. For some reason, there's something beyond that in food that lights you up.
“You can serve others through your love for nature and food.” – Jamie Delaluz (03:04-03:19)
Here's a fantastic discovery; you can also grow your food in a very intimate way and can use it as a form of medication. It's packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. The cucumber seed goes into the soil; you take care of it each day, the vine wines around drops its flowers, out comes the cucumbers. They're ready to pick.
By growing your food, you'll get peace of mind knowing what you are eating and what has gone into producing them. If you take good care of the whole process, it will be a medicine for you. It is mother nature and we are created to be connected to our source. If you're passionate about growing your food and preparing it to serve others, a lot of families can benefit from it, especially so many children are suffering right now with different autoimmune issues and behavioral challenges.
Part Two of ‘Serving Others with Jamie Delaluz’
It's also good to remember that as you serve, you can be that channel for the highest good of others. Serving is an exciting way to address pressing issues like mental health, stress, depression, and different burdens that people have in their life. We all need to come home at the end of the day, be nourished, feel relaxed, and cared for. So, if you have expertise in feeding people, you can use your knowledge in producing plant-based healing food, which is rich in minerals and natural ingredients.
You can combine things like farming, growing food, feeding and catering. Serving others doesn't always need to be the big things. Now, how does this make a massive difference in the lives of others? They can learn to do it for themselves and enjoy the process of growing food, preparing food, knowing the necessary skills around recipes, and developing their intuition. You never know that somewhere along that process, you are serving them in many ways.
“Technology has changed the way people interact.” – Jamie Delaluz (08:33-08:39)
If you're a parent, gardening is something you can enjoy doing with your children. It creates that feeling of connection. In comparison to previous generations, technology has drastically changed the way people communicate with each other around the world. It has revolutionized in many different ways, but many are still yearning for some connection, which means technology somehow has adverse effects on the quality of communication.
On the other hand, face-to-face communication opens up more opportunities for building rapport compare to audio or written communication. Just like with podcast shows, the host gets to interview the guest through video calling platforms, but it still feels better when done in person.

Having Fun Using Our Coping Skills
“Relax no matter what’s going on around you.”— Dianne Allen
People think learning coping skills is hard. How do you manage the stress of life? You already have the ability to do it. It might've been a tough day, but it's not the end of the world. In this week's episode, Dianne Allen talks about having fun using our coping skills.
Part One of ‘Having Fun Using Our Coping Skills’
You probably had difficulties in life that taught you productive skills to cope with changes, transitions, and stress. It doesn't always have to be big things. We tend to overlook the small things without realizing they can also create an incredible impact on our life. It's little things like connecting with nature that could help. Decompress your system, consume your favorite herbal tea, or remind yourself that everything's going to be alright.
“Coping skills can prevent you from going to highly stressful places.” – Dianne Allen
One effective coping skill is allowing someone else to help. Allow other people to be of service to you, and help you step out of a stressful situation. Does this remind you of a specific time you were helped by someone? Had you not allowed that person to help you, you would have kept pushing without letting anyone in. It could have been a much longer day. During stressful moments, consider exercising, walking, and breathing to help decompress the day. Allow what happened to float away. You're in charge of your life.
Part Two of ‘Having Fun Using Our Coping Skills’
Another coping skill is to connect with other people. It could be calling a friend and initiating a conversation. Feel free to share anything that excites you or makes you feel good. We need to breathe from our diaphragm and refocus our thinking. Wherever we place our energy is where we get more of it.
What are you thinking about right now? What are your primary thoughts? Are they hopeful and excited? Are they beautiful, compassionate, and kind? Are you nice to yourself? What are you doing? When you feel stressed, feel the full range of your feelings, but it doesn't mean you have to be stuck there. It doesn't mean you have to stay in a negative place. What matters is that you dedicate and have protected time specifically for your rejuvenation, whatever that is.
“Everything around us is a reminder of the beauty and the sacredness of our lives.” – Dianne Allen
Another coping skill that you might be interested in is facial aerobics. Move your face in different ways. There's a lot of muscles in your face connected to the rest of your body. If you walk around with a stressed look all the time, you're never going to be able to experience the greatness of a full range of emotions. Move your face all around. See how many weird faces you can make in a few minutes. Give yourself time to break up the tension. Thoughts that you have that's not of love and kindness, it can leave. You can change your life by changing the way you think.

How to Deal with Mental Turmoil with P. Susan Jackson
In this episode, Dianne Allen and P. Susan Jackson give some words of wisdom about how you can deal with mental turmoil.
"All Emotions Allow Us to Understand Who We Are." — P. Susan Jackson (09:29-09:34)
There's a lot of turmoil that happens within our thinking every day. Many people don't take time for self-reflection and are afraid to dive into negative emotions. But at the same time, you have to embrace who you are. There has to be some regulation and boundaries to maintain discipline in your life.
Part One of 'How to Deal with Mental Turmoil with P. Susan Jackson'
Dianne asks how Susan coaches people who are struggling to get a sweet sleep. Susan says, "If you want to sleep well, you have to look at all aspects of your physiology and environmental interface. That goes for things like being careful with the types of food you consume and how many hours you're spending on screens. Some of us have jobs where we're very screen heavy.
"Getting enough sleep helps keep your mind and body healthy." – P. Susan Jackson (25:51-25:56)
The world is beautiful because we can connect with people, but let's take the time to reflect if we're balancing that out with time in the world away from screens. The room that you sleep in is also significant." Susan also added that developing a relaxation practice, like listening to a piece of soothing music, is helpful. Just the whole idea of letting go of the day.
Part Two of 'How to Deal with Mental Turmoil with P. Susan Jackson'
Susan has tremendous compassion for people who are feeling unseen and unheard. That's a super tight place. There are many ways to joyfully express yourself. But sometimes it takes full acceptance of the range and depth of your complicated feelings. Be celebratory with yourself and share that with other people around you. We don't have to live shut down lives where we live in denial of our positive qualities. Every profoundly gifted person is unique.
"Be celebratory with yourself and share that with other people around you." – P. Susan Jackson (44:58-45:03)
When you meet an eccentric person, be a little patient. Could you give them a little space? Be open to the possibility. Take a risk with someone who seems a little different. Please don't wait until someone is buried in the ground before we talk about how awesome they are. We need to support each other because people present themselves in different ways.
Dianne Allen ends this podcast with these words, "If you are resonating with this topic, follow us and learn the different things that we're doing. But I want you to realize that if you hear our voice, there is no accident and there's a reason why you're listening to us. Especially if you've been listening all of this time and you still want to hear more. It's because there's something about you that's amazing and wonderful that's trying to emerge. So, let it come out in its full expression, and we will support you in any way we can."
You got to hear a lot about how to deal with mental turmoil and all kinds of other things in this episode. So, check out Sue's information and remember to keep your face to the sun so the shadows fall behind you. You're a rock star. You're here on purpose. Go out there and be who you're meant to be.
